Our School Vision

Our emphasis on our 3Rs, as well as an emphasis on a central theme of "My World, Our World, This World" links family, school and the world beyond.  We want our children to be able to make sense of their world and to equip them with the skills to take their place in it now, and in the future.  We believe that learning should have no limits: no glass ceilings; no child left behind.

Through our curriculum, children at Stourfield Junior School are provided with stimulating and challenging learning experiences suited to every child's needs.  This leads to high levels of pupil engagement and achievement.  In addition, it promotes spiritual, moral, cultural, physical and mental well-being, enabling children to demonstrate the 3Rs and our school expectations on a daily basis.

As learners, we encourage them to have resilience and an awareness of others so that learning takes place in an environment of inclusion and equality.  Above all, we want them to aspire to excellence in all that they do and have a love of learning that they take with them into the world beyond our school.  We want to give all our pupils the ability to go on and achieve great things.

• Using manners like sharing, waiting your turn, saying please and thank you
• Being careful not to damage places or things
• Using a quiet voice or calm behaviour in public places
• Sharing resources and only taking what you really need

Resilience can mean:

• Giving things a go, even if they are hard, and trying your best
• Dealing with challenges and persevering with things lots times
